As a rare diamond in the Corantijn River Arapahu Island welcomes you to the beautiful untouched rainforest of West Suriname. You will be pleasantly surprised by the spectacular Frederik Willem IV and the King George waterfalls surrounding the island, the fascinating old rock carvings with mysterious Petroglyphs, and the virgin rainforest interspersed with hiking trails. On this beautiful and tranquil island with its comfortable accommodation, you can relax perfectly and enjoy the sound of the water streaming alongside.

In 1 hour and 15 minutes you are flown from Paramaribo to the airstrip of
Amatopo. After a walk of about 800 meters through the jungle you reach the banks of the Corantijn River from where you will continue your trip to Arapahu Island by boat.

Itinerary
During your stay at Arapahu Island you are free determine your own itinerary for the day You can choose from the following activities:
Visit the Frederik Willem IV and the King George waterfalls;
Discover the animals of the jungle;
Fishing;
Bird watching;
Swimming in the rapids;
Hike through the rainforest;
Picnicking on 1 of the beautiful ‘beaches’;
Mountain hike;
Adventurous trips in a dug out canoe;
Visit the Petroglyphs and rock carvings.
 Certain activities are dependent upon the water level. 

Included:
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and juice or flavored drinks during these meals.
Coffee and tea are available all day long.
A well trained guide who speaks Dutch as well as English and oftentimes also originates from the Surinamese interior. 
 

Not included:
Alcoholic beverages are not included, but are for sale at the bar on Arapahu Island
