KASIKASIMA
The Kasikasima Jungle Expedition. An excursion filled with adventure and breathtaking views. Filled with nature and excitement this trip takes you over breathtaking rapids to reach the mysterious Kasikasima Mountain. After an intensive climb you will reach the top of the mountain from where you can enjoy the spectacular view and the flora and the fauna of the Amazon rainforest. The imposing, mysterious Kasikasima Mountain is located at a distance of 65 km from the village of Palumeu. This Amerindian village lies at the beginning of the Tapanahony River at a distance of approximately 270 km south of Paramaribo. You are flown there in 65 minutes. The Kasikasima Mountain lies in the basin of the Palumeu River. From Palumeu you will travel there by boat, a trip that will take two days.

Itinerary Kasikasima 5 day tour (Monday thru Friday):
Day 1
Fight from Paramaribo to Palumeu. In the afternoon canoe trip to Palawa island. On the return trip you will visit the Indian village of Palumeu. At night you will receive all further instructions for your trip to the Kasikasima Mountain.
Day 2
By canoe you set out for the Trombaka sula (rapids). Depending on the water level this part of the trip can take anywhere from 3 to 7 hours. Along the way there is a lunch stop. Passengers cross the rapids by foot while upstream, the boats man awaits you with the canoe which will take you to the base camp, where you will arrive late in the afternoon. That night will be spent making preparations for the climb of the next day.
Day 3
This day is spent with a climbing- and hiking trip through the jungle to one of the tops of the Kasikasima Mountain. The trip, including the return trip takes approximately 7 hours. One hour of that time is spent at the top, enjoying the magnificent view of the Amazon rainforest from the plateau.
Day 4
The boats man takes you back to Palumeu with his canoe. You will be offered a picnic lunch along the way. If you wish to do so, you can row part of the way yourself in traditional manner, without the help of the outboard engine. You reach Palumeu in the afternoon and will spend the night there.
Included:
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and juice or flavored drinks during the meals.
Coffee and tea are available all day long.
A well trained guide who speaks Dutch as well as English and oftentimes also originates from the Surinamese interior
Accommodation at Palumeu is based upon double occupation per room (2 persons). For a surcharge you can request a room for just one person if the capacity allows it. You will however need to specify this preference at the time of booking your tour.

Transportation to and from Zorg en Hoop airport unless this was booked separately.
